Using Yahoo to remotely monitor your home is not recommended for security purposes alone. Having good security, alarms and locks to stop anyone breaking into your home in the first place is much more important than wasting cash on CCTV. It's all about peace of mind and what best suits your needs.
If you have Yahoo, you may be interested in these very good Yahoo chat clients. which have much more features from cool to security such as yahelite!.

i like it its so great and perfect
But u have to keep the other computer power on and internet connected unless u reach home. Is there any solution?
Great information tweeted-voted up-useful-follow Thanks!
Can u help me with more question? What is your contact information please?
or is there any way that if a person sign in to yahoo messanger the cam connects its self by default...????
hi there..... i knew this since very long time..... but i m wondering if a person forget to turn on the option "My Webcam" and then one try's to use this web cam on the other pc..... what would be the trick for that.....????
This is a nice idea, but unfortunately it needs the webcam window to already be opened. It's not much easier than going to the 2nd computer and sending an invitation to the 1st computer.
Your Hub caught my eye..What a great Idea!!
i tried that before
but you u have to start your cam in the messenger first

very good, I support you, come on , welcome to my hub!
Hi compu-smart, How you doing? Only a compu-smart hacker knows smart ideas like this one. I didn't knew you were that smart.....hahaha just kidding.
This is the difference between regular use & creative use. Everyday people like me & others use Webcams to chat & view live videos. I never thought of using Yahoo messenger or others to monitor my home. Although idea is same when you are doing a video chat with some one they can see you & you can see them too.
It is very good idea but the only problem is people who have DSL internet connection can use this. In addition, your computer has to be permanently connected to the internet plus computer plug into power too. Therefore, it will be costly experiment.
Now I know you are really a compu-smart excellent hub & thanks for sharing your ideas.
Clever! I wonder if I could create 3 more accounts and have am accessable webcam in every room - since i have desktop in the office - a laptop wherever - and an old mac in the bedroom -hmmm, that could be fun (each computer has a unique ip, Ithink it will work!)
awesome idea - although hopefully I will never get in the habit of looking at it - taht could be addictive, and i will finally answer the question of what my dog does while im away!
how to force my friend to sign out from his msn ?
That's genius! Great hub!
very very clever compu-smart, i have been using yahoo for as long as i can remember. i wish i knew about this idea which could have saved me so much time and money! THANKS
Wow compu--another great hub and something I hadn't thought of. As we have many burglaries around here, I may use this idea! Thanks my friend!
Hi compu-smart. what a great and informative hub! :) I'm keeping an eye on you. LOL
This is really something new for me, and you are right, i discussed about this with my friends, they don't even thought of this trick, i never thought that we could do so much with yahoo messenger, great information.
Compu-Smart,
The new technologies are so amazing. If this Web-Cam captures images at the Speed of Light, then I might be able to keep an eye on Fast Eddie.
Thanks, Barbie Perkins
I choose to believe that I live in the land of the brave and the home of the free!
Now please help me about you not having a table to eat at. So are you saying then that the picture above of the simese cat is you having dinner???? And who is keeping an eye on you? The other cats??? Help!
Great Hub and I agree with Shalini, I have a few cameras lying around, now I can put them into good use. Well done.
compu-smart - that's really, really smart!!! :) wouldn't ever have thought of using Messenger like that! Thanks!
To tell you the truth I would like to go out, leave my doors unlocked, windows open and which is pretty much the way I live! shhhh. I do lock up when I'm sleeping.
BTW compu-smart... did you know you left your monitoring system on last night ....and I see your cats are on the table! :)
Fascinating, compu-smart. You haven't been in touch with Big Brother, have you? This hub, along with your other hubs on Live Streaming Videos and How to See Your House Live, are giving me a good education on this subject. But what I'd like to know is who is watching me while I'm watching everyone and everything else?
Very interesting. I learn something new everyday. Now I can keep an eye on Barbie to make sure she is working while I'm resting.:)
Thank you. ~ eddie
Wow!! This is great as i never realized you could do this , thanks for sharing !!
