Below are images of live streaming webcam views of houses and apartments on the world wide web. Some could be manually controlled with pan and zoom facilities
Today the world has millions of webcams and more and more are popping up everyday!
For security reasons, Its big business for any business no matter what size to have security cameras installed! Even ordinary home owners are taking advantage of the CCTV world and installing many cameras all over the inside and outside of their homes. They are everywhere and if you do your research very carefully, you may just find a cam that is pointing right at your house just like the images on the right show, or even at you! while your working! resting! or playing! and I will show you how it's possible and to be aware of not just the numerous amount of cameras that are popping up everywhere especially here in the UK, but from all the hidden webcams you cannot see!. Viewing webcams all started when I had so much time on my hands which I passed doing many things online such as researching all the answers to my life long questions. Chatting to some amazing people from all over the world among many other cool things than can be done online which also included viewing live streaming webcams from all over the world. Viewing them enabled me to get a up-close and personal to some beautiful and amazing places that I would probably never get to see! including tourist attractions, parks, beaches, streets, shops, any animal you want to see including any mammals and insect you could think of. It truly is a live window to the world.
I wanted to see Trafalgar Square, Times Square, Red Square and any other square I could think of. I wanted to see the seven wonders of the world, the China wall! Niagara Falls. I wanted to see people, roads and buildings I used to live in. I wanted to see any and everything live including my house! and I could! almost! and if you look hard enough and do your research, you will find any and everything on cam, including your house!
To do this I could have used the Google Earth free software, but this does not have live images! but it will show you practically anywhere on Earth, Or Google's street view which was created by Google who drove around all parts of many countries with a camera fixed to the top of a car taking pictures! (see image above right) which is like Google Earth has literally landed! and instead of ariel images, it gives you a drivers, street-view and is pretty awesome! You may even see yourself as not all the faces are blurry but the clothing is very clear. Google Street view requires no download and has not covered every country as yet. It is also available with the Google Earth program.
Not just tourist attractions can be viewed live. You can view animals, roads, streets, motorways, including people, beaches, hotels, offices all live!, absolutely any and everything. Its just doing your research and you will slowly find webcams that are very close to where you live! It might not be streaming, but a 10 second updates is still a good result! Some cams you can actually control your self with zooming in and panning left to right tools.
Note. For a better view! It's best to view these cams at different times of day due to each countries time/daylight differences
One of my favorite live webcam locations are Times Square, simple right click on the video feed and view in full screen to hear the sounds and see the many animated neon futuristic sights, and the Broadway's many yellow cabs. Check out the Las Vegas cams and the famous MGM Grand hotel. View live images of the on-going recovery efforts from the World Trade Center "Ground zero" site in lower Manhattan, or visit Trafalgar Square or Piccadilly Circus in London and see the hustle and bustle of London's busy streets with their famous black cabs and red buses, or perhaps you want to take a peek in the famous Andy Warhol Museum, or visit the Niagara Falls,,, maybe The Eiffel Tower or the Pyramids in Egypt or the Statue Of Liberty. Are you a Beatles fan? You will love this live webcam of the famous Abbey Road Crossing which overlooks many houses! Do you live there!?
If your an Animal lover then you will adore these live feeds from Ants to Elephants, Tarantula's' Dogs to Kittys. Take a peek at Gertie the pug dog. Watch donkeys at Tehachapi, CA, which have been rescued from throughout the United States. or perhaps you want to see the Chinstrap Penguins or black-footed ferret at a Conservation and Research Center?
So many streets webcams are also live online; Beale Street is the number one tourist attraction in the State of Tennessee, watch people walk by the live streaming web-cam on Duval Street in Key West, Florida. Check out the locals and tourists on the corner of Bourbon St and St. Peter Street..
Webcams are on 1000s of beaches! You won't need your sunscreen with these views from The TradeWinds Island Resort on the island of St. Pete Beach, FL United States or how about Venice Beach, better known as Muscle Beach and watch all the fun from the sea, or the beautiful Palm Beach in Florida or Hololulu Beach and Waikiki Beach! --Watch people eat at a Tokyo restaurant. This could be you eating drinking-somewhere else live on cam!, Maybe with someone you shouldn't be with!. The Texas Border Sheriff has live cameras to fight border crime. Have you own live video channel and broadcast to the world with the many free online programs such as Earthcam.
How to view peoples webcams at home! without even asking for permission! you can do this with Camfrog & Paltalk. These are free programs which will show you thousands of people from all over the world that are live on there web-cams. There will always be people online on cam every day and night. They have audio, so make sure you have a microphone and web cam to enjoy them fully! Listen to some entertaining, crazy and lots of pointless conversations and see sometimes amazing backdrops of some weird and wonderful locations!

I have a farm house with no electricity in an isolated area in Jordan ...it was stolen many times....can I keep an eye on it while using Google earth and how ?do I need to pay money for this service?I wish I could keep watching it on my computer when I am not there at the farm house...I want to see those people who always take advantage of my absence and rob the house...plz help

Great hub. I wasn't expecting to learn so much. I guess there are pros and cons to this story. I hope people don't misuse this information to spy on others. I would definitely find it useful to look at travel destinations. I thought I knew alot. I didn't realize that there is so much more to Google Earth. I haven't used in since its inception. I must give it a visit. Perhaps, its time I got rid of my broken down car on the front driveway. This is a great hub.

hahaha ... the tiny ones are placed in peoples eyes so they can capture what you can see all the time. Nano cams, as well as the tiny microphones set into nose or teeth for sound. this is old news ... lol.

Well! What I know using the see through camera in to my appatment the people living just above me coming right above me follwing inside the appartment everywhere I go, throwing heavy stone like stuff when I sleep, isn't it wonderful culture?

I would like to know that, it is possible to instal camera to one house and see what the people doing in another house?
(this answer is very important for me. for example, I am living in the appartment complexes but at first floor, it is poossible my second floor neigbor install camera to his/her appartment and watching me what I am doing. like showering, sleeping,etc)

I have been wanting to do this for a few years. This is the best information I have found! My whatever present is next wish! I have had things stolen, need to keep an eye on horses at the farm, while away and this is fantastic! I can't wait to catch the little creep who has been stealing or those who are just snooping around and have no business being here! Great hub!

Hey, I just got a brilliant, crazy idea. My daughter Tracey is heading off to college in a few days. These live streaming webcams are an awesome way to keep an eye on her. Thank you so much Comp for being the eyes in the back of my head. They don't call you smart for nothing!!!!!! :) I say Compu-Brilliant!

I don't really like knowing that I'm watched whenever I am walking around but I assume that the tapes are eventually erased and reused or it is live and probably no one is paying attention. Our right to privacy is pretty much gone.

I'm located in the remote south west of Tasmania & somewhat suffer from "Cabin Fever" so web cams help me get "off the island" so to speak.

well....nobody has answered my question above yet....I asked if I can monitor my farm house in a remote area with no electricity....can I do that using Google earth facilities.....i posted my question last two months.
